A terrace full of stories - meeting place since time immemorial

Some places have that rare ability to attract people automatically. The terrace at Onder de Linden is such a place. Whether it is the sun that lingers just a little longer here, the trees that whisper softly or the tables that invite you to stay put - this is where people gather. For generations.

From gravel to clinker - but always connected

The terrace used to be covered with gravel. It creaked underfoot, it dusted in summer, but it was part of the deal. Horses stood tied to rings in the gable, while their riders enjoyed a hot meal or a drink inside. The terrace was an in-between space. Not inside, not quite outside - but just the right place to land for a while.

Today there are bricks. Sleek, solid, beautiful. A fine surface for chairs, glasses and footsteps of guests who linger. But the function has not changed. The terrace is still a place of meeting. Of conviviality. Of stories.

From morning sun to evening glow

Mornings start quietly. A coffee, a newspaper, a freshly baked sandwich. By noon, lunch guests slide in - cyclists, walkers, locals, tourists. And as the sun begins to set, the terrace fills with murmurs, laughter, clinking glasses and plates full of goodies.

Nothing is forced here. You may talk, listen, taste or just stare at the world that seems to spin slower. That is the magic of this terrace: it gives space.

Memories of horses and talk

If you look closely, you can still recognise the contours of yesteryear. The facade with the rings. The wide arrangement of tables. Everything breathes history. Perhaps we are no longer sitting in long skirts or wearing hats, but the essence has remained the same. This is a place to be together.

Sometimes guests ask about those rings in the wall. Or about the story behind the lime trees. Or they tell that as a child they used to eat ice cream here with grandpa and grandma. Then we know: this terrace is alive.

A place for everyone

We make room for families, for couples, for large groups of furry friends. And also for those who come alone, with a book or just to do nothing. Everyone will find their place here. And every season has its own charm - from the first day of spring to the last late summer evening.
