The social project that has long been on the shelf at Onder de Linden will be given substance on 21 July 2023. Loneliness among the elderly is high. Especially for this target group, it is so nice to have a diversion for once. From 1 July, the Dutch government will start fighting plastic packaging. Did you know that every day in the Netherlands alone we throw away 19 million plastic cups and food containers that have only been used once? To do something about this, the government has launched a campaign to encourage re-use and plastic packaging will be taxed more heavily. From 1 July date, you will therefore pay extra for disposable cups and containers that are (partly) made of plastic. At Onder de Linden, we are taking a different approach. How? Read on quickly.

Our hotel and restaurant is located in a beautiful spot in the Kop van Drenthe. Besides the standard ways of exploring the area such as on foot or by bike, there are also other, adventurous ways to enjoy the surroundings. On 1 April, no joke, we revamped our menu. Not only has the layout changed, but we now have different menus for lunch, dinner and drinks. We also added some new dishes to the menu. For instance, there is even more choice for vegetarian guests, we have an extensive children's menu and, for meat lovers, we have added a delicious pork rib roast and sirloin steak. So dining at Onder de Linden remains surprising but always tasty.

Since 2019, we have officially been Kwaremont Koerse Kaffee. Unfortunately, due to corona, we have not given much expression to this until now. Together with eatery Family Appelscha and BHV Roden, we sponsor our first cycling/mountain biking team. They proudly wear the Kwaremont cycling jersey.

The first five years of investing in Under the Linden in its Antons and Janet's is over! And what a lot has happened in these past few years. The crowning glory is surely the nomination for best business in Noordveld in 2022, even though we came a close second. It is recognition for us as a team! Our employees are our most important capital. We have one team, one task: to give our (inter)national guests the ultimate experience when it comes to hospitality. Fine traditions should be cherished. The Vereniging voor Volksvermaken Roden traditionally organises the neutjesschieten at Onder de Linden every year on Easter Monday. A game for young and old that involves precision and tactics. This year there will be a very special edition of this old Drenthe-Groningen tradition; the North Dutch Neutji Shooting Championship!

Every year, a prize is awarded to the best company in the municipality of Noordenveld. On the recommendation of the Committee of Recommendation, the municipal executive committee nominated 3 special companies from the municipality of Noordenveld and we were one of them!

We were nominated for this on the aspects of innovation, creativity, sustainability, community involvement and corporate responsibility. The other two nominees were Alex Kapma from Velodrome and organic dairy farmer Peter Oosterhof from Foxwolde.
