On Saturday 8 July, the cycling event of the North will again take place. The Loop van Roden is a prominent name on the list of northern criteriums and enjoys national recognition. It also brings with it a lot of Rôner sociability, with packed terraces and a lot of happy faces. Especially on the terrace of Onder de Linden, where you will find a real VIP tent.

Big names and local heroes

The Loop of Roden has an impressive list of former participants, including cycling greats such as Erik Dekker, Lieuwe Westra and Johnny Hoogerland, who went on to make a name for themselves in the Tour de France after their appearance in Roden. But local greats like Marco Bos, Stefan Poutsma and Patrick van der Duin also rode their laps in Roden's loop. Who knows, maybe the future Tour de France winner will ride through Roden!

The programme of the Loop of Roden on Saturday 8 July is as follows:

17:00 hour - Junior race over 65 km
18:30 hour - Honouring juniors
19:00 hour - Spectacular Sprint waste race!
19:30 hour - Men's Elite race over 100 km
22:00 hour - Honouring Men

VIP area at Onder de Linden

The start and finish of the Loop of Roden is right in front of Onder de Linden. Sensation all around. For the real cycling fans, we therefore have a real VIP area. Here you can enjoy the race in a special VIP tent while enjoying a snack and a drink. Access to the VIP area is by invitation only.

Within 15 minutes in the bustling city of Groningen, half an hour from surprising Assen and just under an hour from historic Leeuwarden.
