Our cosy, atmospheric hotel is located in the lively centre of Roden. Within walking and cycling distance of cultural heritage De Brink and beautiful forests, such as the Mensinge Bos. Our hotel can rightly be called a bicycle hotel. Many guests stay in our hotel to make beautiful cycling trips in Drenthe. Our 23 attractive and comfortable hotel rooms are equipped with all facilities for a successful cycling weekend. Our rooms have recently been renovated with fresh colours and brand new bathrooms. Enjoy a good night's sleep in a box-spring bed and start the day off right with an extensive breakfast in our restaurant.

We also offer special cycling packages to. For example, we have a fully catered cycling package for 4 days or the 5-day (NAT)OER package where you cycle through the most extraordinary stream valley landscapes of the Netherlands. Are you bringing your own bike(s)? We have our own bike shed with battery charging facilities, which you can use free of charge. And if your bike gets really dirty during the bike ride, you can also clean it on our terrain.

Discover nature in Drenthe by bike

Drenthe has over 2,000 kilometres of cycle paths. There are several themed routes. Go back in time by cycling along the megalithic tombs or follow the Brinkroute along all the Brink villages.

Besides this amazing history, Drenthe also has beautiful natural areas and no less than three national parks.

Dwingelderveld National Park

Dwingelderveld is perfect for the true cycling enthusiast. The park has dozens of kilometres of cycle paths and guarantees plenty of cycling fun. The main cycling route is 30 kilometres long and leads past many landmarks in the area. Cycle past Dwingeloo, quaint teahouses or the radio telescope.

The Onlands

Cycling through the backyard of the city of Groningen. You can do that in De Omlanden nature reserve. Close to the city of Groningen lies a nature reserve that is as large as 3,500 football fields. This nature reserve ensures that people in the city keep their feet dry during heavy rain. During the bike ride, you listen and watch the many birds that have found their place in this nature reserve.

Sniffing culture by bike

Drenthe is an ancient province with a lot of history. From the dolmens to the Colonies of Weldadigheid.
Several cycling routes lead past landscapes full of stories. There are several cycling tours, so you can make it as short or long as you like.
Curious about the special story of Veenhuizen? Then cycle the Boom en Beekdalroute. You will not only cycle through the Colonies of Weldadigheid, but also pass through Roden, Peize and Norg.

Especially for our guests, we have bike rental. You can rent city bikes or choose an electric bike. We also rent mountain bikes for the sporty cyclist. Would you rather not cycle, but still want to discover Drenthe in a similar way? Then you can rent e-choppers rents.

We are here for all types of guests. Walkers, cyclists, geocachers, companies and so on. We get many guests in our hotel who combine an overnight stay with fun cycling trips through Drenthe. Our central location in the province makes us a good base for many cycling enthusiasts.

We have our own covered bicycle shed which our guests can use free of charge. This bicycle shed also offers the possibility of charging electric bicycle batteries, so you can get back on the road with a full battery!

The magic of attention: a signal from a grasshopper

The Loop of Roden

On Saturday 8 July, the cycling event of the North will again take place. The Loop van Roden is a prominent name on the list of northern criteriums and enjoys national recognition. It also brings with it a lot of Rôner sociability, with packed terraces and a lot of happy faces. Especially on the terrace of Onder de Linden, where you will find a real VIP tent.

North Dutch Neutjee Shooting Championship at Onder de Linden

Fine traditions should be cherished. The Vereniging voor Volksvermaken Roden traditionally organises the neutjesschieten at Onder de Linden every year on Easter Monday. A game for young and old that involves precision and tactics. This year there will be a very special edition of this old Drenthe-Groningen tradition; the North Dutch Neutji Shooting Championship!

From tree to bar table

At Onder de Linden, we value history and the story behind our place. A great example of this is the old lime tree. The iconic lime tree was always an important part of our terrace. Unfortunately, the tree had to be cut down recently. But instead of saying goodbye, we gave it a new purpose: as a robust bar table on our terrace.
