What do our guests think of the hotel?
All our rooms have the same style using calm colours and materials. In all rooms, you will find box-spring beds for a wonderful night, a flat-screen TV for a quiet start, plenty of storage space for clothes and other belongings and, in almost all rooms, a coffee/tea facility with a seat/desk to relax.
In the summer of 2020, we set to work on realising the luxury hotel rooms. We converted six somewhat smaller rooms into four spacious and luxurious hotel rooms with a completely new and contemporary bathroom with rain shower.
Review of our hotel in Drenthe
Our first encounter with the owners of Hotel under the Linden was on Easter first day. Janet and Anton gave us a tremendous welcome. It was quiet in the hotel because of the lockdown and there was time to socialise. We spent a night with our daughter in a room with an extra bed. Monday Easter Monday we went cycling, you give a call and everything is arranged tiptop. The weather was very stormy, hail, snow and rain, but we wanted to at least have a look at our daughter who was riding her horse in the woods at the time. After a phone call that she had fallen off the horse, we quickly returned to the hotel. Why this story, because I want to indicate that Janet and Anton are very committed people and asked several times after we accelerated back to our town on the river Waal how our daughter was doing.
Well, that was also a good reason for us to book again. Daughter dropped off Saturday 24 July, again on the horse and we headed to Hotel Onder De Linden.
Hospitable welcome again and how lovely a bustle, which is of course how it should be when you run a hotel. In consultation with Janet we booked the deluxe comfort room, a lovely spacious room with a sitting area, should you wish to stay the night with younger children there is a bunk bed in the same room. Super is the bathroom with a walk-in shower where you can take a lovely shower under the rain head.
And yes we took the retake and went cycling again, everything again super arranged. You can also arrange an e-chopper if you like. Meanwhile, Janet and Anton have a room behind the hotel where the electric bikes and e-choppers are waiting for you.
We cycled one of the cycle routes described on route.nl, but soon deviated because the forests near Roden and Norg are so lovely for cycling. It's nice that you can use the numbers of cycling routes to put together your own. Again braving the weather, but now with more pleasant temperatures and trying to locate the group of girls on the horses.
Yes and then you get to the hotel and plop down on the terrace where several hotel staff serve you kindly. There is plenty to choose from and the food is fine. You soon get the holiday feeling here. A casual atmosphere that makes you happy.
So if you are in the Roden area, we definitely recommend this hotel.
