Since 2019, we have officially been Kwaremont Koerse Kaffee. Unfortunately, due to corona, we have not given much expression to this until now. Together with eatery Family Appelscha and BHV Roden, we sponsor our first cycling/mountain biking team. They proudly wear the Kwaremont cycling jersey. That Onder de Linden is the perfect base for beautiful cycling tours many people already knew. But with the arrival of the first North-Netherlands Kwaremont cycling team, we now also have tailor-made cycling routes where you already look forward to the finish. Because there a deliciously refreshing glass of Kwaremont with foaming col is waiting for you.

Enjoy the beautiful cycling surroundings of our hotel now. The Kwaremont cycling routes were designed by our sponsored Kwaremont cycling team. They have set out 7 different cycling routes between Roden and Appelscha for both the avid cyclist and seasoned mountain biker. The Kwaremont cycling routes connect hotel Onder de Linden with the Family Appelscha eatery. At this stopover, enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or a refreshing Kwaremont before heading back to our hotel.

A cycling route has been designed for every type of cyclist. Whether you want to set out on a road bike, mountain bike, touring bike or gravel bike, the Kwaremont cycling team has designed a wonderful route for everyone. Kwaremont: brewed with love for every cyclist

Kwaremont is a Belgian blonde high-fermentation beer. It is a characterful beer with a smooth, full flavour with a light, pleasant bitterness and a spicy touch. With an alcohol content of 6.6%, it is the perfect end to a spirited tour.
Kwaremont gets its name from the famous calf-biter from the Flemish Ardennes in the Tour of Flanders, the Oude Kwaremont. This slope with an average gradient of 4% passes through the Kwaremont village of the same name. The name might suggest that the beer is brewed in Kwaremont but nothing could be further from the truth. It is brewery De Brabandere (formerly called "Brouwerij Bavik") that has been brewing the beer in the Belgian village of Bavikhove since 2010. Yet Kwaremont is really the beer for anyone with a heart for cycling. After the ride and the sweat shed, nothing tastes better in a real cycling pub than a glass of Kwaremont with foaming col.

We are proud to be Drenthe's very first Kwaremont Koerse Kaffee. With our sponsorship, we are taking the cycling experience at the restaurant at Onder de Linden to the next level. For many, Onder de Linden was already the base for beautiful bike rides, but as Kwaremont Koerse Kaffee we appeal to a new group of cyclists. Even the sporty cyclist looking for a beautiful, challenging ride with an equally beautiful after-party knows the way to our hotel. Kwaremont is there for every season, because a passionate cyclist never sits still. It is therefore passion that brings us together around a refreshing Kwaremont in our Kwaremont Koerse Kaffee.

The magic of attention: a signal from a grasshopper

At home, it begins. I walk through the house and watch our kitten Mio. He is focused and alert. On the floor is a green grasshopper. One tap with Mio's paw. A high arc through the air. I feel excitement and fascination at the same time. As if nature comes in for a moment and whispers: look, listen, move with me.

The Loop of Roden

On Saturday 8 July, the cycling event of the North will again take place. The Loop van Roden is a prominent name on the list of northern criteriums and enjoys national recognition. It also brings with it a lot of Rôner sociability, with packed terraces and a lot of happy faces. Especially on the terrace of Onder de Linden, where you will find a real VIP tent.

North Dutch Neutjee Shooting Championship at Onder de Linden

Fine traditions should be cherished. The Vereniging voor Volksvermaken Roden traditionally organises the neutjesschieten at Onder de Linden every year on Easter Monday. A game for young and old that involves precision and tactics. This year there will be a very special edition of this old Drenthe-Groningen tradition; the North Dutch Neutji Shooting Championship!

From tree to bar table

At Onder de Linden, we value history and the story behind our place. A great example of this is the old lime tree. The iconic lime tree was always an important part of our terrace. Unfortunately, the tree had to be cut down recently. But instead of saying goodbye, we gave it a new purpose: as a robust bar table on our terrace.
