Onder de Linden has recently joined Arthuur Routes. Arthuur Routes are cycling and walking routes that tell the story of the region you are cycling or walking through. With the Arthuur cycle routes you discover interesting locations. In addition to the stories, you can also do assignments and puzzles to discover the region even more.

During the cycle route, you can go to various locations to engaging podcast stories listening about the surroundings. You will discover interesting facts about the region while cycling or walking.

Cycling routes through the Netherlands

Arthuur's cycling routes take you through the north, centre and east of the Netherlands. For example, there are routes in (Kop van) Drenthe, Twente, the Vechtdal, the Veluwe, the Weerribben and the Almelo region.

Get to know the surroundings of Roden, Norg, Veenhuizen, Annen, Zuidlaren, Tynaarlo, Eelde Paterswolde, Haren and the Zuidlaardermeer in a new way. Listen to Arthuur's interesting stories and discover the regional secrets of the Kop van Drenthe.

There are currently two Cycling routes in the Kop van Drenthe: Arthuur, Merchant of Mensinge.

This cycle route tells the story of the development of Drenthe from Veenhuizen and Roden. During the route, you will explore the towns of Roden, Norg, America, Steenbergen and Veenhuizen, among others. Arthuur, Stone Lord of the Hondsrug.

This cycle route tells the story of the Drentse Hondsrug with all its ancient stones and dolmens. During the route, you will explore the towns of Annen, Tynaarlo, Vries, Haren, Zuidlaren and the area around the Zuidlaardermeer, among others.

The Arthuur cycling map also features the cycling junctions and 4 themed cycling routes.

Bicycle tour and overnight stay at Onder de Linden

After a long day of cycling, there is nothing better than recovering over a snack and a drink before plopping into bed and being woken up the next day by the delicious smell of fresh rolls. This is possible at hotel and restaurant Onder de Linden.

The Loop of Roden
On Saturday 8 July, the cycling event of the North will again take place. The Loop van Roden is a prominent name on the list of northern criteriums and enjoys national recognition. It also brings with it a lot of Rôner sociability, with packed terraces and a lot of happy faces. Especially on the terrace of Onder de Linden, where you will find a real VIP tent.
North Dutch Neutjee Shooting Championship at Onder de Linden
Fine traditions should be cherished. The Vereniging voor Volksvermaken Roden traditionally organises the neutjesschieten at Onder de Linden every year on Easter Monday. A game for young and old that involves precision and tactics. This year there will be a very special edition of this old Drenthe-Groningen tradition; the North Dutch Neutji Shooting Championship!
From tree to bar table
At Onder de Linden, we value history and the story behind our place. A great example of this is the old lime tree. The iconic lime tree was always an important part of our terrace. Unfortunately, the tree had to be cut down recently. But instead of saying goodbye, we gave it a new purpose: as a robust bar table on our terrace.
