Hotel Onder de Linden values the opinion of its guest and reads every review. Overall, we as a team signal that we often get to read some of the same compliments (highlights) back in these reviews. Tasty snacks

In the summer of 2022, it was hot. Very, very hot. Fortunately, many guests were able to enjoy the tastiest snacks and drinks on our spacious terrace. We read this in several reviews. We enjoyed delicious snacks and good wine'. Or: 'Lovely enjoyment on the terrace and very nice that the hotel has a large, free car park. And that just around the corner from the terrace'.

After a good night's sleep, we like to spoil our guests with a tasty (regional) breakfast. Fortunately, our guests also enjoy this, as we read: 'Breakfast was tasty and well taken care of', 'What a good coffee' and 'More than enough choice at the breakfast served'.

Central & nature

Our regular guests know that the central location of our hotel and nature go hand in hand. For example, you will find Onder de Linden literally in the heart of Roden and just a stone's throw from the hotel, guests can walk straight into nature. Who wouldn't want that! Fortunately, our guests do. And they also shared this with us: 'Where you find cosiness and atmosphere in the hotel, you find peace and quiet in nature around the corner'.

So it is not for nothing that you read this text on our website: You feel it when you step inside. The peace and the bustle. Familiar. Free. Surprisingly versatile. That's Hotel Onder de Linden in its Antons and Janets.

Friendly staff

'Hotel Onder de Linden has excellent hosts', we read in one review. Other guests confirmed this in their reviews by comments like: 'What a hospitable staff' and 'Friendly staff'. That, of course, is exactly what we do it for. Hospitality is paramount at Onder de Linden. As are a good night's sleep and spacious hotel rooms.
Fortunately, our guests agree with us. For instance, in many a review we read: 'We enjoyed the spacious, clean room with modern décor'. Or: 'The hotel room was cosy, fresh and we slept like roses on the good beds'. Something we like to guarantee as a hotel: A good night's sleep.

The magic of attention: a signal from a grasshopper

At home, it begins. I walk through the house and watch our kitten Mio. He is focused and alert. On the floor is a green grasshopper. One tap with Mio's paw. A high arc through the air. I feel excitement and fascination at the same time. As if nature comes in for a moment and whispers: look, listen, move with me.

The magic of attention. My compass in hospitality and growth

Learning is feeling. It goes beyond knowledge or theory. It's in small moments: a look, a breath, a hand falling silent for a moment. As I write this, my shoulders sag and a smile appears. Learning is not just knowing, it is experiencing, moving, trusting.

Summer agenda

With the holidays approaching, we introduce our summer calendar. Even more fun every weekend at Hotel Onder de Linden from 5 July to 5 September 2021.

The Loop of Roden

On Saturday 8 July, the cycling event of the North will again take place. The Loop van Roden is a prominent name on the list of northern criteriums and enjoys national recognition. It also brings with it a lot of Rôner sociability, with packed terraces and a lot of happy faces. Especially on the terrace of Onder de Linden, where you will find a real VIP tent.

North Dutch Neutjee Shooting Championship at Onder de Linden

Fine traditions should be cherished. The Vereniging voor Volksvermaken Roden traditionally organises the neutjesschieten at Onder de Linden every year on Easter Monday. A game for young and old that involves precision and tactics. This year there will be a very special edition of this old Drenthe-Groningen tradition; the North Dutch Neutji Shooting Championship!

From tree to bar table

At Onder de Linden, we value history and the story behind our place. A great example of this is the old lime tree. The iconic lime tree was always an important part of our terrace. Unfortunately, the tree had to be cut down recently. But instead of saying goodbye, we gave it a new purpose: as a robust bar table on our terrace.
