With the holidays approaching, we introduce our summer calendar. Even more fun every weekend at Hotel Onder de Linden from 5 July to 5 September 2021.

Cocktail Friday

Every Friday is Cocktail Friday. Every weekend we highlight one of our cocktails. On Friday 9 July 2021, the Cocktail Friday we start with the Pink Gin! Order this Pink Gin cocktail at an attractive discount. Among others, the Sex on the Beach, the Classic Cosmopolitan and the Mojito are on the menu. We bring the sunshine to the beating heart of Roden. Check the agenda for the other cocktails.

Sushi Saturday

Every Saturday on Sushi Saturday, you can enjoy Asian Restaurant Merry Gold's delicious sushi at our place between 5pm and 8pm. A unique collaboration! Both Merry Gold and we value quality and professionalism. Sushi is a very delicate and laborious product. And, we deliver fresh! So book one of the sushi boxes in good time. Then you are guaranteed a nice spot on our terrace, but you will also enjoy the best sushi. So every Saturday, sushi time.

There is a choice of two sushi boxes.

Theme Sunday

And every Sunday, a holiday country takes centre stage! Together, we will make it a wonderfully beautiful summer with lots of fun and excitement. And we have even more fun in store for you.

18 July is all about the start of the holidays. And what better match for this than a Summer party. If the weather is good, we will light up the barbecue and you can eat from it and enjoy. Since the tightened measures, we will fill in DJ Bert's summer beats in a different way to still create the Ibiza feeling.

Vive la France!

As the holidays unfold, we take you to the Place du Tetre in Paris' Montmartre district. On our "French" terrace, you can have your own caricature made on Sunday 25 July. For this, we had caricaturist Jeroen Busschers come over from France, who now has his studio in Amsterdam. Have yourself immortalised in a black-and-white caricature with Onder de Linden as background. Unique! The caricaturist will be there between 14.00-18.00.

Let's go Mexico!

In France, we will catch a plane to Mexico. We invite you to dream with us and make it a special adventure together. When you think of Mexico, one of the things you think of is Corona right?
Maybe the Corona is all getting too much for you. Just then, we invite you to drink a corona together. Order six then you pay only five. We'll keep the rest of our dream to ourselves for now.

La Dolce Vita

From Mexico, we fly on to Italy. We settle down in beautiful Florence. Ciao bella! May we remind you that we are still daydreaming? Still, we promise you that here, in the heart of Roden, you will get the Italian living room and terrace feel.

Viel Spaß!

The next trip takes us to our neighbouring country Germany. This country is known for its beer festivals, Deutsche grundlichkeit and varied landscapes. Come eat delicious steak!

Vamos a la playa

We travel to the fine sunshine of the Spanish costas. Pull out those espadrilles and meet on our terrace for a delicious summer cocktail.

The American Dream

Acoustic fresh pop & soul sounds across the terrace and it's time to let it all go. You have enjoyed and gained energy to get back to your activities fresh and fruity. From 4pm to 10pm, there will be live music.

This is what we do it for. Cosy and atmospheric enjoyment! This is also possible in your own country. If you can dream it, you can do it! You are very welcome to join us on holiday in your own country.

The magic of attention: a signal from a grasshopper

At home, it begins. I walk through the house and watch our kitten Mio. He is focused and alert. On the floor is a green grasshopper. One tap with Mio's paw. A high arc through the air. I feel excitement and fascination at the same time. As if nature comes in for a moment and whispers: look, listen, move with me.

Learning is feeling. It goes beyond knowledge or theory. It's in small moments: a look, a breath, a hand falling silent for a moment. As I write this, my shoulders sag and a smile appears. Learning is not just knowing, it is experiencing, moving, trusting.

The Loop of Roden

On Saturday 8 July, the cycling event of the North will again take place. The Loop van Roden is a prominent name on the list of northern criteriums and enjoys national recognition. It also brings with it a lot of Rôner sociability, with packed terraces and a lot of happy faces. Especially on the terrace of Onder de Linden, where you will find a real VIP tent.

Fine traditions should be cherished. The Vereniging voor Volksvermaken Roden traditionally organises the neutjesschieten at Onder de Linden every year on Easter Monday. A game for young and old that involves precision and tactics. This year there will be a very special edition of this old Drenthe-Groningen tradition; the North Dutch Neutji Shooting Championship!

From tree to bar table

At Onder de Linden, we value history and the story behind our place. A great example of this is the old lime tree. The iconic lime tree was always an important part of our terrace. Unfortunately, the tree had to be cut down recently. But instead of saying goodbye, we gave it a new purpose: as a robust bar table on our terrace.
